It's great you're doing this item, but I think we need to put it in the hands of someone with a bit more "gumption".

Match reports, injury news etc - you're the man. But taking the piss out of the opposing fans (which to me is equally as important as the fucking result), and you're lost.

Really and truly, no offence meant, but if we're going to have a "View from the Opposition" thread, then we need to base it around friction, piss-take, tribalism and, dare I say it, banter?

So, up your fucking game or off-load it. And yes, I would be prepared to take it on.

===============

I agreed to this idea.

To this date peroni has never done a View from the opposition.

Whilst certain people live on here, and are posting what seems like 20 hours a day (you know who you are) then WHO will never die.

Re: Has WHO finally died?
Charley - Nah, not having it 99% of the feedback was good on his match reports.

Personally, I never read them as had zero interest in reading about a game that I had just watched.

He was also sick and tired of the negative feedback (abuse) towards his posts.

I miss him too, but, going forward, let's enjoy madeasy's contributions

Re: I miss Vinny
I always enjoyed his reports and couldn't understand the grief he got off the silly cunts. Probably jealousd because he knew words with more than five letters in.

Some geezer used to do a good crossword thread.

Sydney Iron, you can understand the slagging going off on other threads, but when people like Vinny went to a lot of trouble to do these match reports etc; it's crazy none of the critics offered to do the match reports, it seems no thread is untouchable shame really

Private Dancer 11:58 Sat Jun 3
Re: Has WHO finally died?
I don't ever remember Vinny getting cunted, at all, quite the opposite in fact?? And he def didn't stop doing it because of that.

Vinny in particular did great match reports and you could see he went to great effort with them but continually got cunted by a minority on here, he seemed pretty thick skinned about it for a good while but think in the end just got sick of it, cant say I blame him.

Never mind the pointless arguments, threats, drivel and cunting that go on here, that was WHO at its worst, slagging another fan week in week out for writing what were pretty unbiased and insightful match reports.

Re: Has WHO finally died?
Mex a lot of posters did match reports and the opposition view, no they weren't paid, but they gave up because other people slated their efforts so nobody bothers now.

Re: Has WHO finally died?
A few have mentioned the news info you get here, it is uncanny at times almost before the big networks are up and going with what’s happened at times particularly when it involves Muslim!!! In fact there is often a full on debate/slagging match come cunt fest on WHO when all the major news networks are still in breaking news mode.....................

No. Not dead, having a sabbatical, always been a cyclical beast

As has been said always a great source of balanced (yes balanced) knowledge on non whu news from opinions on all sides of the spectrum. Learnt more on here than sky BBC etc on 9/11, 7/7, Manchester etc and even dare I say elections and Brexit.

Despite its problems the time I avoid this place is always the same. During and post match. Cunts everywhere

Miss the days when WHO had away days on mumsnet etc

Still the goto West ham site for me. Though was itbs first

Re: Has WHO finally died?
Complete bollocks
But it would be good to have few feature articles again. No match reports, no season player ratings, not even a WHO poll on Hammers of the season. What happened?
How did it work when we had them? Was it just people did them as they wanted to or were they paid in some way?

Wouldnt say its died but it is a bit calmer on here these days. I quite miss the times when this place used to spirall out of control over the most trivial of things. Would be guarenteed a full belly laugh on a daily basis.Guess a lot oif people who made it so funny have either matured or,as is more likely, been sectioned.

WHO is my UK Life Support machine better than the BBC for latest news,Alan's daily news thread everything I need to know about West Ham and banter in a language/ dialect I can understand.

Hopefully a few of you older ones with start to drop off, and the site will pick up steam again.

Saying that, it's not all that great getting the youth on board. Remember when Braderz first joined and we had to teach him how to type not using text speech?

Re: Has WHO finally died?
No its not dying, but it is getting older, well the average age of the posters on here is IMO, been on here for a good few years and would guess back when I first found the site it was late 20,s to 40,s on here, these days judging by all the moaning and pointless arguments and political threads its got to be around 50.

I still visit at least once a day and 365 days a year I reckon, even if I don’t post sometimes for weeks on end particularly if im away and still get a good few laughs from some of the carry on and arguments, oh and then there is the football related stuff……………..

Long may it continue, its about the only site I visit were I can really say what I think without some over zealous MOD patrolling and deleting or issuing warnings for bad language, not on topic posts or censoring comment etc, one site banned me for posting that “I felt a bit of a cunt” in a discussion (fuck knows what it was cant remember that bit!) I wasn’t calling anyone a cunt except myself???? Mind you when I received my ban I replied in proper WHO style to the cunt of a MOD who handed said ban…don’t think there will be any second chances or reprieve on that site!
